On the 14th October, we had a very exciting visit to Kings Ash Academy by Dr Sarah Wollaston MP!

To begin with, we had an assembly where Dr Wollaston explained her role to us, what an MP does and what the Houses of Parliament are like. She gave us time to ask lots of questions! Dr Wollaston explained to us how a debate works in Parliament; we had our own debate as to who preferred dogs or cats with reasons why. This gave us the opportunity to understand exactly what it must be like to debate in Parliament.

Dr Wollaston then visited Foundation Stage. She shared tea and cake with us whilst discussing the fantastic things we do at Kings Ash. Dr Wollaston then went and visited every class in school!  We were able to show her the work we have been completing about Britain and also asked her more questions.

It was a fantastic morning; we learnt so much about life as an MP and Dr Wollaston learnt all about what we do at Kings Ash. Thank you to Dr Wollaston for her time.
