Our Curriculum

Curriculum Intent

We aim to provide ‘pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens’¹ and ‘provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life’.²

Pupils will be introduced to the ‘best that has been thought and said’¹ and ‘an appreciation of human creativity and achievement’¹ encouraged through a relevant, meaningful and purposeful curriculum.

Through national and local frameworks and our own wider curriculum provision, we develop a wide ranging knowledge and skills to empower pupils’ to achieve their personal best and be aspirational for their future role
within the global community.

At Kings Ash Academy, learning is organised into meaningful units each half term.  Each unit links to one of our Big Ideas: Identity and Culture, Conflict and Resolution, Health and Wellness, Environment and Sustainability, Technology and Innovation.
The links below detail where National Curriculum, PSHE and RE objectives will be covered within each Big Idea.  Each term, a Big Idea parent sheet is sent home to inform parents of the content for the half term.
