To help keep all pupils safe, please ensure the school has up-to-date information about any allergies your child may have. Accurate allergy information enables us to put appropriate support plans in place, train staff effectively, and respond quickly in an emergency. We all have a part to play in creating a safe environment, including following our nut-aware policy and being mindful of the food brought into school. Our Phonics Programme

Read Write Inc.

The school uses the Read Write Inc. approach to the early  teaching of reading. This phonics programme is highly successful, very much enjoyed by the children and helps to encourage a love of books.

Children progress through a highly structured programme and then move onto age appropriate spellings, using a range of resources, including “Get Spelling”.

We also hold regular parent information and open classroom events so that they are able to support their children with the move towards reading.
