Our Little Thinkers Nursery (9 months - 2 years) is now open. Click HERE for more details.
Little Thinkers is a small family of Nurseries providing childcare and early years provision to families in Portsmouth and the South West.
Little Thinkers provide a safe, nurturing environment filled with learning opportunities. They are a part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, which makes us a ‘thinking nursery’ – this means we think big thoughts.
We provide wonderous experiences and we develop confident, curious and resilient individuals. Young children have spent a short time on the earth therefore much about it is a mystery to them. In a world dominated by technology, it is amazing that we can still be mesmerised by something that is not on a screen; something as wonderous as a shiny spider’s web sparkling with dew upon a wet, Autumn morning. Our wonders will guide our adventures.
We will seek out moments that wow and captivate children, causing their eyes to shine and their tongues to stick out in deep concentration.

What does a typical nursery day look like for my child?
On arrival, your child will enjoy some planned activities set out by their practitioners in the room. They will then join in with a group welcome time. Snacks will be available after this while they continue to play. They will then go into the garden for some adult-led activities and free play. They will return inside for story time, and if it is the morning, those staying for lunch will prepare for lunch, and if it is the afternoon, they will prepare for tea.
How do you keep families informed of their child's progress?
Little Thinkers use the ‘Famly’ app, which is an app you can download to your mobile or tablet. We upload weekly observations of your child and what they have been up to. We give a handover at each collection with a summary of how they have been during the session. Parents evenings are held with your child’s key person once a term to discuss their development and next steps.
