We have been super busy in 3DS since returning after half term! We have started exploring a new story in English called “Voices in the Park.” We watched a re-telling of it and then read the text with our friends. We have discussed and shared our initial likes and dislikes and have looked closely at pictures from the book. We have found it interesting looking at the illustrations as some of the trees are in the shapes of giant fruits, lamp posts that have been made to look like hats and all of the characters are gorillas. Next week we are going to use all of our knowledge to write our own version of the story.
In maths, we have started learning a formal written method for multiplication. We started off by writing our own multiplication stories from a picture, followed by learning the grid method by firstly using dienes and sharing ideas with our friends and then writing the method in our books. We were really proud of how well we did using this new method and couldn’t wait for Mrs Deller to look through all of our learning.
