Some of our Year 5 students had a great time during a recent stay at The Start Bay Centre in Slapton. They took part in a range of activities over a packed few days, including beach bouldering on Mattiscombe beach and orienteering in Slapton.
We also went for an evening walk by torchlight through some woods close to the centre. Here we were treated to the sights and sounds of the night-time woodland. All the children sat quietly in a specially constructed listening area and their silence was rewarded when 3 owls began to call.
Back at the Start Bay Centre we enjoyed an Arts and Crafts session and took part in a range of activities designed to encourage our teamwork and co-operation. Mrs Fenner’s legendary quiz was the highlight our last night and was keenly contested by everyone. Winners should have received their prizes by now!
