All our seeds we planted at the end of last term are starting to grow. The children have enjoyed watering them and watching them grow. We have had lots of talks around the plants and why we need to water them.

“ to make them tall up in sky “

“ don’t stand on them, they won’t grow”

“ get them big”

We will continue to take responsibility for them and look after them and are hoping to maybe even get some tomatoes and carrots from the plants later in the year.

Update  – We found carrots!

This week at school we have been pulling up the carrots we have been growing in the garden. The children enjoyed trying to pull them out the ground and looking at the different carrots. We then cut them up and tasted them for our snack.

They were delicious!! The guinea pigs enjoyed them as well.

“ small, tiny one” said Emily

“ a big one “ Bailey told his friends

“ carrots” Toby shouted excitedly

“ baby one “ Rosco told us.

We have also been smelling the different herbs that are growing in the garden. We picked some of the leaves and added them to the mud kitchen to add to our mud pies and mud cakes along with some of the carrots.

“ i like mint, not that one though” Emily says smelling the different leaves,

“ making dinner” CJ says
