During Anti-bullying week we used role play as a way of exploring how people might feel if they were bullied and also ways of trying to prevent bullying happening. We worked really well in our groups and came up with some super ideas and suggestions such as: ‘If you find out that one of your friends is being bullied, go and speak to a trusted adult then talk to your friend about how they are feeling and help them find the courage to speak up.’

Some of us also acted out the role of the adult and we listened to conversations (through the role play) that helped the bully try and understand how the other children might be feeling and why bullying should not be tolerated. We really enjoyed these activities and they gave us a deeper understanding of what bullying looks like and ways of stopping it from happening.

We also produced some posters to make children aware of cyber bullying and some acrostic poems about all forms of bullying. Also shown are some colourful posters encouraging children to be positive about their friendships and to reject bullying everywhere.

As part of Anti-bullying week Year 3 learnt the song ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’. They all put a lot of time and effort into their song so that they could perform it in front of the school in assembly.
